Meet the lovely Logan, he's from the renowned Barleyarch kennel and he has a pedigree to be truly proud of. He is by American import Am Ch/Sh Ch VJK Myst Sterling of Barleyarch and out of Sh Ch Barleyarch Pixie JW. Sterling was Top GSP 2010 and amassed 18 CC's,7 Res CC's, a Gundog group win and other group placings. Very sadly, Sterling and Pixie are no longer around but left an amazing legacy in their offspring and passed on their sensitive, biddable and calm disposition.
Already a Show Champion, in December 2013 Logan entered his first Novice Field Trial with the GSPC as a Show Gundog Working Certificate competitor and although he didn't get an award on the day, he was given the accolade of the Guns award. This was a brilliant appraisal of his ability to find and produce game for 'the bag'. The Guns at the trial (the people who are shooting over the dog) select a dog that they would most like to work with and in their opinion would be the most useful and productive on a routine shoot day and this was given to Logan.
At Logan's 2nd Field trial, he went one better and was awarded his Show Gundog Working Certificate as he had successfully hunted, pointed and retrieved from land and water. This gave him the elite title of being a Full Champion, proving that he has demonstrated specific working ability as well as being a Show Champion. To say we are proud of him is an understatement and we are delighted that he's now a proud father too!
What a career he has had, the stuff dreams are made of, and now at the age of 13, he's hung up his show and working lead for good. We have so many memories of great times competing with him, he's certainly been 1 in a million and has passed on his endearing traits to his progeny.
Our lovely 'Logey Bear' loves nothing more than a sofa cuddle and he still finds and point game for fun. He is now the Sire of a Full Champion and an Open Field Trial winner and has other progeny making their mark in the ring and field.
